Affiliate Committee* (Affiliate members only)

Summary: The Affiliate Committee exists to build new bridges between PCAR  REALTORS® and the service providers who work with them. Affiliate partners include mortgage brokers, home inspectors, title companies, and many more — all of whom share the common goal of creating long-term, successful business partnerships. Affiliate committee members volunteer to lead events and provide products that help to make PCAR membership effective for Affiliates and benefits to REALTOR members.


Advocacy/Outreach Committee

Summary: The central goal of the Advocacy Committee is to provide resources for the members to increase involvement in Portage communities. By effectively using programs, publications, classes and grants, to engage REALTORS® in the community and demonstrate the value and image of REALTORS®. The Committee supports and promotes fair housing and equal opportunity in real estate through the distribution of information and discussion of established of established and new concepts.

Advocacy/Outreach Sub-Committees & Workgroups:

  • Care with Coats....organizes an annual coat drive
  • Christmas for Kids...organizes an annual charity auction Event
  • Vintage Venture....plans  a prom for senior citizens
  • Fair Housing ... promotes equal opportunities for housing

Budget/Finance Committee*

Summary: At their regularly scheduled meetings and as otherwise deemed appropriate, the Finance Committee will review the underlying assumptions that were used to develop budgeted funding levels for the Association. Among the areas inclusive in this review is membership income, interest income, on-dues revenue and taxes. The Finance Committee may recommend to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors that certain funding adjustments are made to the current year and/or next fiscal year operating budget as a result of these reviews.

The Finance Committee is responsible for the preparation of the Association’s annual budgets, using the Strategic Plan as a guideline, and submission of the budgets to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for approval.


 

Communications/Technology Committee

Summary: Provide oversight to programs of the association which effectively communicate o to members, the public and the media and make recommendations to the Board of Directors.

 


Constitution & Bylaws Committee
Meets: Biannually & As Needed

Summary:  The Constitution and Bylaws Committee plays a very important role in the Associations governance as it’s the responsibility of this committee to maintain PCAR governing documents. The committee reviews requests and provides wording for approved amendments to these documents. The committee also develops and recommends rules/regulations that best serve the membership body, committee members and leadership.

 


Legislative/RPAC Committee

Summary: Members of the Legislative/RPAC committee are responsible for monitoring local, state and national legislative issues affecting real estate related matters, private property rights and communicating current political issues that may affect members. The committee also coordinates and plans RPAC fundraising activities and events.

Member Services Committee

Summary: The Member Services Committee has the responsibility for recruitment of new members; to plan and conduct orientation programs for newly licensed Realtor applicants; to promote member retention, grow member involvement and encourage leadership; to assess member services/programs and make appropriate recommendations for additions or deletions; and to identify potential services to benefit members both professionally and financially.

Professional Development Committee

Summary: Provide members with programs and services which will increase professionalism, knowledge, and profitability including approving continuing education.

 


Professional Standards Committee*
Meets: Quarterly

Chair: Suzan Blazek 

Summary: Members of the Professional Standards Committee are to serve on hearing panels, as required; to hear matters of alleged ethical misconduct by board members, as referred by the Grievance Committee; or to decide arbitrations when invoked. The hearing panel’s findings and recommendations for disciplinary action, if any, are forwarded to the Board of Directors for affirmation, rejection or modification. The Committee Chair should ensure the committee members of both Professional Standards and Grievance and the Board of Directors receive policy updates, and process education.

 


Grievance Committee*

Summary: To receive & review all complaints alleging violations of the code of ethics and all requests for arbitration and to maintain committee educational requirements.

 


Strategic Planning Committee*

Summary: Quarterly reviews and evaluate s the strategic plan, and progress and programs. Ensure committees are best utilized for annual NAR core standards compliance. Annually reviews and adjusts plan as needed for presentation to the Board of Directors for approval. Chairs or a representative from each standing  committee are appointed serve on the strategic planning committee.

 


YPN Group

Summary: YPN helps young real estate professionals excel in their careers by giving them the tools and encouragement to become involved in REALTOR® associatios:

  • To Pursue leadership roles with their local, state, and national associations.
  • To take an active role in policy discussions and advocacy issues; be informed about the latest industry news and trends.
  • To network and learn from one another by attending events, participating in online communication, and seeking out mentoring opportunities.
  • To become exceptional members of their community by demonstrating a high level of REALTOR® professionalism and volunteering for causes they feel passionate about.

Annual Golf Outing (Jun-Aug) 2018

The Annual Golf Outing  enhances the social aspects and comradeship among Association members. The committee works on securing catering, golfers,advertising and prizes. Even if you are unavailable the day of the event your help on the committee is still appreciated.

Vintage Venture Event Planning (Feb-April)

The Vintage Venture committee organizes the Vintage Venture Event. This event is a prom for senior citizens to be held Sunday, April 30th.  The committees works on securing entertainment, catering, decorations, ticket sales , secure advertising and prizes. Even if you are unavailable the day of the event your help on the committee is  still appreciated!

 

Community Partnerships

Originates and implements functions which not only demonstrate REALTORS® interest in their communities and neighborhoods but will also serve to enhance the REALTOR® image.

 

Christmas for Kids Event Planning (Oct.-Dec.)

Organizes the collection of toys for distibution to families in the Portage County Community.
